Bmic's Automotive Claim

Decent Essays
I had an idea come to me this morning as I was summarizing a past automotive claim. There have been a few number of claims about a mechanical failure or an electrical failure that have led to a fire, could cause an accident, or even worse, death. As the years go on and government regulators and consumers become more alert and sensitive to these safety issues; the number of recall notices from automotive manufacturers have been increasing. However, these notices could not be listed for up to over a year or two after the claim has come across a BMIC's adjustor's desk and in some rare cases, for example the 60 million vehicle recalls of 2014 including GM's ignition switch probe, that recall could not be issued or located for up to 15+ years after

Organizational Culpability It is mind blowing how one of the Big Three major American automotive companies such as General Motors could neglect such a crucial procedure as reporting a safety issue. Wealth inequality became present, and clear, when the company decided that it would be too costly to immediately fix the problem. Instead, they decided to prioritize their profit over the lives of the individuals, in this case – their customers. The neglect continued for years until they were informed of the first fatal crash. They then tried to cover this up by not investigating it and they still didn’t make the recall until many years later.…

On 12/31/2016 at 0213 hours, I conducted a motor vehicle stop on a silver BMW bearing NJ registration, F63GWW for failing to stop at a traffic signal at the intersection of Almonesson Road and Clements Bridge. I activated my overhead lights and sirens and pulled over the vehicle on Clements Bridge Road, in front of Lowes Hardware. I started to attempt a driver side approach when I observed a mid-40's Hispanic/Black male talking on a cell phone. When I got to the rear bumper of the vehicle, the driver sped off from the traffic stop and continued south on Clements Bridge Road towards Cooper Street. I advised County Dispatch that the driver fled from my motor vehicle and that I was perusing.…

The main problem in this case is involving Vermont Teddy Bear which was John Sortino in 1981 is that the companies point of sale system was severely lagging behind. In 2011, The company struggled with major surges in customer periods for example Valentine's day and Christmas Eve this occurred because of VTB's intricate middleware system. The issue may have happened because instead of revamping it's system during down periods the company attempted to do patch work jobs overtime. This is quite alarming because a major retailer would not have these types of issues with the system when they need it most. Which leads to the next point of the IT supervisor being faced with a dilemma on what to improve prior to the next surge period(Mother's day week).…

The pinto was one of Ford’s biggest mishaps that happened in the 1970s. It caused a lot of pain to a number of people even though Ford could have prevented by installing an 11 dollars part. Their thought process for not installing the part was due to the lower profit margin and the higher price that the vehicle would have been sold . If Ford were to recall the vehicles sold to the consumer then it would cause pain to a lot of people instead of causing pain to a small number of people if there were no recall. The cost would benefit them if there were no recall since it would only cause them 49 million dollars instead of 137 million dollars for the “pinto drivers if the car is redesigned”.…
