What does the average person think of when they hear “birth control accessibility”? The right to contraceptive medication does not include the legal right to abortions, in fact, it actually decreases the need for them. It is an important part of women’s right and conclusively, everyone’s rights. That’s what anyone should think when they hear those three words. Birth control should be accessible to women nationally because it slows abortion rate, it is virtually a legal right, and is fundamental to women 's equality. This is not beneficial to women but they are blind-sighted and do not see how this is harmful to men as well. Societarily, men and women need to work together and act as one unit rather than maintaining a sad, immature notion that they should be in competition with one another. Access to birth control in the U.S. has helped narrow the income inequality gap between men and women by as much as 30 percent during the 1990s alone (Zott). Since women have been able to make the decision to have a baby at their own free will, they have sequentially had more time to hone their career skills. As a result, more than half of the U.S. 's doctors are women now. A society 's well-being relies on women flourishing and ultimately leads to equality and unity. This is fundamentally enveloped within America 's values of freedom and justice for all. Blatantly lying and using women as pawns in a political game is wrong. It was one of the bloodiest years in the organization 's history, as unborn casualties climbed to 333,964- enough to fill Yankee stadium six times (Perkins). Reading the arguments against the federal funding of Planned Parenthood are very difficult to take seriously. The facts are poorly checked and cited and almost seem made up. The information seems very farfetched and similar to scare tactics and propaganda. However, the most serious argument pro-life citizens have seems to be the funding of Planned Parenthood. Nonetheless, Planned Parenthood still receives more revenue from private funders and none from government services. This totals to about 775 million, in opposition to the 528.4 million generated by the government. Any abortion services are funded by Medicaid and not technically the government.
