I plan to pursue a PhD in Biomedical Sciences with an emphasis on genomics as a way to fulfill my desire for helping others. In 2017, I experienced a mysterious medical issue that does not have a definitive cure. This is what began my desire for helping others by assisting in finding cures or new ways to more effectively treat diseases. Through Biomedical Sciences, I am able to make contributions to the fields of biology and medicine.

A PhD in Biomedical Sciences is not typical of a person interested in learning sciences. However, I find it important that biomedical scientists begin to research areas involved with learning sciences. A degree in biomedical science with an emphasis on genomics will give me the ability to examine people's genetic
