The Biography of Rachel Rachel is the name of the second born child of Laban. Rachel was born in Paddan Aram in 1553 B.C. She is the sister of the first born child of Laban named Leah. One day while Rachel was tending to her sheep a man came up the path and started talking to the other shepherds. They were by the well. It was time to water the sheep so she walked over to the well. Jacob took the stone away from the well and watered his uncle’s sheep. Once the sheep were watered he put the stone back and kissed Rachel. Jacob told Rachel that he was a daughter of Rebecca sister of her father. Rachel ran to tell her father. Rachel’s father Laban welcomed him with open arms. Laban was so happy to see one of his nephew. Jacob told Laban that he loved Rachel and wanted to marry her. Jacob said that he would work seven years if he could marry Rachel. Laban said he could work to marry Rachel. …show more content…
Because of the style of wedding veil on the ancient times Jacob could not tell it was Leah. When the wedding was over Jacob still didn’t know it was Leah. The next day Jacob found out it was Leah. He went to his Uncle and asked why he tricked him. The uncle replied I have to let my oldest daughter marry before I can let my youngest marry. Jacob asked if he could work seven more years to marry Rachel. Her father agreed. When the seven years was up Jacob went to his uncle and asked for his daughters hand in marriage. Rachel’s father agreed. They had a big wedding to celebrate that Jacob finally married the woman he loved. Many years went by and Leah became jealous because she had no one to
