There is a quarterback of the football team boy that every girl loves, the smart and sweet boy who is the total charmer, and the tomboy girl with two boy best friends. Jayden is the tomboy. She is tall, brave, and does not care what others think about her. Jayden would much rather play football with the guys than go shopping with the girls. “Devil Danny” is introduced in the novel when he moves in next door to Jayden. Danny would always steal Phillip from Jayden. Jayden says that, “All the girls in school are in love with him. I mean he does have nice blonde hair that always looks like he just combed it, even when he’s out in the wind. All the girls have been going on about his dreamy blue eyes and his cool attitude.” This shows that Jayden may have secret feelings for Danny. Later on, Danny becomes Jayden’s best friend too, after she proves him wrong about girls not being able to play football. Danny is the stereotypical football player that every girl has her eyes on. Phillip is the first character introduced after Jayden. He is introduced when he kisses Jayden. Phillip lives across the street from Jayden and every night, Phillip and Jayden call each other and talk for hours. The book’s tone is happy and jolly at most times, and at others the tone is really sassy. Jayden really knows how to tell someone off and then five minutes later smile ear to ear. The only flaw in this book was that it moved really quickly through Jayden’s life and the story got a bit confusing. If the author explained Jayden’s earlier years more thoroughly, the book would have been easier to comprehend. Overall, this book was a good story and I am ecstatic to read the next book in the
