When people compel to the topic of global warming most of us will agree that many people use fossil fuels for everyday activities on a regular day basis in the United States. Where the argument usually ends, however, is on the question of should fossil fuels be replaced with alternative energy? Where some are convinced that alternative energy will be better for the environment; numerous of people also argue that it will not be as productive as fossil fuels.
Alternative energy consists of wind, solar, and hydroelectric energy. These resources usually depend upon the weather patterns, and can’t produce consistent energy. Whereas man made fossil fuels can be controlled better and have the ability to be produced in large amounts. If you were to use wind turbines, you would need wind to activate those devices. Theoretically, if Mother Nature decided to decrease the amount of wind-blown that day, then your energy source would be low. Alternative energy can be unpredictable. For instance, solar power devices need direct sunlight, but some areas experience the cloudy or gloomy weather. In addition regions that have multiple multistory buildings can block the direction of the sun rays. Last but not least hydroelectric energy can affect the aquatic animals, flood forests, and drought rivers. Next the expense of alternative energy is costly to the government, to build Eco friendly equipment and keep up …show more content…
In addition, it’s renewable and produces less carbon emissions into the atmosphere while decreasing pollution. Decades and decades can pass by and renewable energy will still be available for use. “No doubt it is currently getting scarcer (oil), and as a result more expensive, but current estimates suggest we will not actually run out until between 2025 and 2070.” (carboncounted par. 4) “However, as other fossil fuels run out, particularly oil, the use of coal may increase, reducing that time span considerably.” (carboncounted par.6) The cost of alternative energy will eventually subside because the U.S with not have to borrow a great amount of resources from other countries. We would have produced it naturally in our own
