According to our text, database management is the process of storing data. In the early days of computers, they would use data resource management to store information in a specific location. This process was very inflexible and extremely costly. Instead, we use database management today. This process allows us to consolidate the data, and integrate it into many different storage locations. It also allows users to edit, upload, download, and read specific files. An example of a database management would be a cloud service. Users can store their files onto cloud, and any user can access them from around the world. …show more content…
Many microcomputer database management systems use the relational database model. In the relational database model, data is stored into a two-dimensional table. This allows data to be inputted into multiple fields, and can be retrieved simultaneously. If a manager wants to retrieve an employee’s name, birthdate, and salary, all the information will be contained in the relational database model. One major advantage of the relational database model is that data can be linked, which allows the user to save data in different locations. The limitation to a relational database is that it is only two-dimensional. This limits the amount of data that can be inputted and retrieved.
How will wireless information appliances and services affect the business use of the Internet and the Web? Explain.
The use of wireless information appliances and services will be relatively positive. Wireless technology such as mobile devices are currently changing the way we use the internet and web. A business can perform meetings via smartphone apps such as facetime or skype from anywhere and at any time. Also, a business can reach its customers and suppliers from virtually anywhere. They can use social media to stay in contact with their customers.

A node is a small cell system, normally a block or two, that uses fiber optic cables, and small antennas. The antennas are strategically placed in a large city on top of light poles, street signs, or any other place that is optimal. Each antenna is connected to a fiber optic cable that allows for high speed internet interaction. While this idea seems a little farfetched, it is actually being implemented today in Houston, Texas. Texas Medical Center has roughly nine nodes installed at their campus. All cell phone usage is routed through these nodes, and there is no use of a conventional cell phone tower. This idea is sparking a new debate with major carriers such as sprint, and Verizon. Both want to continue to invest in this technology, and it may make stakeholders
