28 years… 28 years my father had lived in communist Budapest, Hungary. He came to the U.S. in 1988 in an effort to escape the ideologies he was forced to accept and believe in and to find the sought-after opportunities in America. My mother came from Hong Kong, China on a parallel vision. With little money and a dream, they buried whatever money they had into starting a business. Eventually, they bore the fruits of their success, surprisingly without having gone to college. In that long drawn out process, they realized how important education is and how important it is to them that their son goes to college and in that path he will have the best chance for success.
