Maybe if they cared about what they were feeding their kids we wouldn't be in the epidemic of obese children. In the article “the battle against fast food begins in the home” By Daniel Weintraub he says “ Parents, not the state government, are in the best position to fight the epidemic of overweight children in our school”. He is right because if the parents cared about what the school feed their kids or what they were eating they would be able to make a difference. Weintraub also says “It’s the fault of parents who let their kids eat unhealthy foods and sit in front of of the television or computer screens for hours at a time”. Now only can they put a time limit to make sure the kid doesn't sit in front of the computer screen all day the can also make sure he get at least 30 minutes of outdoor activities so he can lose some calories. Maybe if the parent put the kids in their school sports of local sports the kids will get more entertained and play outside more instead of eating chips with a large drink watching televisions for 2 hours. He is correct in the way that parents are not doing anything to stop these fast food companies. He also says “ its is parents - not the fast food companies no the video game manufacturers who are responsible for teaching kids healthy eating and exercise habits. Can they use some help? Sure.
