Beethoven Concert Report Sample

On Sunday October 11, 2015, I attended the Regina Musical Club’s, Trio concertante at the University of Regina. The concert was performed by 3 musicians, Nancy Dahn who played the violin, Simon Fryer who played the cello, and Tim Steeves who played the piano. The concert was made up of three pieces. The first one was Beethoven’s Piano trio in G major Op.1 No.2 which was published in 1795. The second was Fryderyk’s Chopin’s, Chopin in G minor Op.8 which was written and published in 1829. And lastly Antonin Dvorak’s, Dvorak Piano Trio in E minor, Op. 90 “Dumky” which was written in 1891.
The genre of these pieces were classical.
The concert, was pretty good in the sense that everything went as planned. No one screwed up, and the musicians played

For example, she played with perfect volume and messed with dynamics where it was needed, which made the room feel some type of way. At times she would go really fast, staccato like the all of a sudden switch the rhythm to really slow. The cello player on the other hand seemed pretty distant, at times when he was not playing he would just stare at the crowd the play again. That kind of put me off because he didn't have that intensity that Nancy and Tim had when they played. He did a lot of harmonizing with the violin and when he did it was really slow. Tim the pianist was great. He had a workout playing the piano, I'm sure he looked forward to the intermission as much as i …show more content…
When i looked at the program i thought that i would be more intrigued because i would want to find some of the pieces they played, and maybe call out where they missed a beat or something. I thought I would be pretty solid on the Beethoven pieces. Sadly I did not know one piece they played. Also, it seemed like one hour would pass, until we could clap and i didn't really like that. I think that’s another reason they lost my attention, it was just too long, and soon, everything started to sound like one piece. It left me hungry and wanting to go home and crawl into bed.
They're presentation made me laugh at times though. The piano player looked like he was going to bang the keys into the piano and the Nancy seemed like she was going to start a fire, or dislocate her shoulder, because she was playing so fast.
The Chopin piano trio piece, Allegro con fuoco, had a very fast rhythm and combination dynamics, sometimes being loud and sometimes soft. The feel of the piece was very gloomy and sometimes scary. The Dvorak Piano Trio piece, Allegro, had a very low melody and the rhythm was very slow, though some parts were high, fast, and staccato like. The feel of the piece was also very gloomy.
Over all the best thing about the concert is that I got to sit in the upstairs seats, though my phone almost fell down into the main floor audience several times. The worst part about the concert was how boring it was, and that after it ended,

I appreciated the effort and music the mariachi group gave in their performance. I noticed how the trumpet usually took the main role while the violins supported the trumpets voice, usually by pizzicato. The guitar and guitarrón were mainly the background music that played the same rhythm over and over. It made me realize the beauty of…

Overall I expected it to be a great performance, and it is safe to say my expectations were met. There was a lot of kids, and babies in attendance which I didn’t expect at all. The performance put on by the Orchestra was great. When the director of the orchestra entered the stage everyone in the audience gave him an applause as he starts to greet the audience, and talk about the performance. The projector behind the performers had videos, and drawings displayed that was turned into amination, and it brought the drawings to life while making the story more entertaining.…

Personal Narrative It took us about 3 hours to get to Shakopee, it was only 60 degrees, but with the thousands of people lined up, waiting to get in, it felt like 90. We stood in that line for two hours. For awhile, we talked, we met a variety of people, we laughed, we were excited. But once we got closer to the front of the line we all got quiet, this is it, we were in, we were all going to see our idols.…

I do not think any words could have truly described how I nor the rest of the audience felt during that performance. The opinions and analogies of the pieces found in the program notes did slightly influence me. I agreed with and understood most opinions and comments of the performances. The listenings I did for my pre-concert assignment were not nearly the same thing as being in the auditorium. It was a completely different experience to see, hear and feel the performance in person as opposed to watching a video on a screen and trying to listen to the depth of the orchestra through…

Unforgettable with Stephanie Aaron and the Bradley Jazz Ensemble was a very unique experience. I do not attend many concerts, but the ones that I have gone to were nothing like this one. The concert was full of energy and the lighting was dynamic. I mostly went to traditional concerts, but this jazz concert was much more energetic. When musicians would finish a solo the crowd would applaud and there was a lot of movement among the ensemble.…

The second Musician I want to talk about would be Michael Lington during the live Jazz Concert. Michael Lington is the Sax player. He is a Danish- American contemporary Saxophonist , producer, songwriter, recording artist and a purveyor of soul and contemporary Jazz. I personally love the way how the concert went, even though I’m not in the actual performance, but I still felt how excited the audiences was during the concert. During the Concert the music was played very soft and it did not have anything like the big band or African influence kind of characteristics.…

It is great that we are showing music through social media to help people broaden their look on music. This symphony seemed like they were made to play with each other. The made very few mistakes and you could actually feel something about the music. The musicians made you feel as passionate as them about the music. At the beginning I got excited for the concert because of all the media they show on the ceiling and walls.…

Moreover, since it was a solo performance, there was no communication among performers. Even though I could not see the performer because he was hide behind the organ, I could feel that I was putting a lot of energy in this piece to make it dramtic. Just by the way he would hit the peddles it resound in the Hall. The musical composition I liked the least was Prélude et fugue en mi mineur composed by Johann Sebastian Bach.…

The performance attempted to give a dark but loving story which will keep you amused throughout the whole concert. I learned a lot about the choreographers in the performance by the way they presented themselves. Presentation means a lot and the way they proceeded was professional.
