Battered Woman Syndrome happens to all kinds of women, no matter what their race, religion, age, etc. Generally the victims of BWS are women around the age of twenty through twenty-four. They are most likely to be murdered by their abusive partner. In the world there are over fifteen-hundred shelters for battered woman syndrome victims. About every fifteen seconds in the US one woman is being beaten by their partner. Around 25-45% there are women that are being abused while they are pregnant. Most of these domestic violence incidents are not reported. When a woman that suffers from BWS, she often share the same features of other victims. Some of these features are Taking full control of the assault and start to find it hard or difficult to accuse her abuse. She feels that this situation is not safe for her being. The woman logically believes that her abuser is too powerful and will beat or kill her if she tries to reach authorities and or seek help from others. There are 4 stages cycle that occur in BWS. The First stage cycle is denial. In this stage, the woman doesn’t want to admit to having an abusive relationship, not to even herself that she has a problem with her relationship. She refers to her husband’s incident an accident. She tends to always have a reason to why her husband abuses her every time and she believes that it’ll never happen
