Introduction
The White Sox get bribed into throwing The World Series against the Cincinnati Reds in 1919. The White Sox were made up of two different groups of players and together they formed the best baseball team to ever play.
Black Sox
The “Black Sox” nickname originated when Comiskey decided to save money by reducing the number of time the uniforms were washed. Comiskey had been known to convince poor baseball players to sell their soul for money.
Making a deal Several White Sox players got together with gamblers to discuss losing the World Series. Gambler Arnold Rothstein promised the players 80,000 dollars each if they went along with “the fix” as some people called it. Since the players were not being pay enough money they went along with it.

Two of the White Sox players to start the game was Cicotte and No. 2 starter, Claude “Lefty” Williams. Game 1 was lost 9-1 followed by another loss in Game 2, 4-2. Although, several of the players agreed to throw the game Rookie Dickie Kerr was not one of those, he spun a 3-hit shutout to beat the Reds 3-0 in Game 3. Cicotte started Game 4 he, allowed two runs which easily could’ve been prevented. Jimmy Ring faked out Chicago on three hits. With Game 5 came another 3-shutouts as Hod Eller defeated Williams, 4-0. Reds had won four games but the 1919 World Series was played the best-of-nine
