In the image, each specialist is looking at a different part of her body trying to figure out what is wrong with her. They are "squeez[ing] and jabb[ing], tapp[ing] and test[ing]" (10). This whole experience is uncomfortable for Camilla, which you can tell from her face in the picture, she does not look pleased with how they are treating her. She is being tested as if she was an animal, her leg is even shown as being an animal print, which could have been the author's way of expressing this feeling. In the end, they cannot figure out exactly what ails her, so they each give her a different pill in hopes it will fix her. However, this does not end up helping her. Instead, she turned into a pill, as seen on page 11. Next, the Experts were brought in. They believe it to be a virus or fungus, to which Camilla responds by sprouting, "fuzzy little virus balls," and, "different colored fungus blotches" (12). In the image, the experts are pictured as very large and daunting with clipboards and confused, yet scary, faces. On page 16, Camilla is seen covered in tree branches, feathers, fungus blotches and virus balls, she even sprouted a tail because of all the suggestions she was hearing about what could be wrong with her.
