Rosa Parks in her seat on the bus. She and her mother moved in with her grandparents. On the farm her grandpa stood on the porch with a shot and watched as the Ku Klux Klan marched down the road. The city code of Montgomery requires that all of the public transportation must be segregated. At this time bus drivers had the same powers as the police.
The bus drivers had to make sure that the african americans had separate seats.

He then asked four colored to move back. Three of the four did, but Rosa refused. The driver demanded,”Why don’t you stand up?” Rosa told him, “I don’t think I should have to stand up.” He immediately called the police to have her arrested. Rosa told the police that she was tired of giving in. No blacks were allowed to ride the buses on December 5, 1995, that was the day of Rosa’s trial. Her action inspired other to take action. Blacks gathered at the Mt. Zion Church in Montgomery to discuss plans and to determine a stronger leadership. The folks at the Mt. Zion Church had a minister speck. His name was Martin Luther King
