"Dad, do I really have to go!" I yell across the room as I finished packing my suitcase.

"Yes! We've already discussed this, you spend the summer at Aunt Clarisse's and your mother and I get to celebrate our ten year anniversary." he hollers back.

I roll my eyes as I lay down on my bed. "No, you mean you and Mom stated the facts, such as forcefully shipping me off to Aunt Clarisse's, which I might add isn't even my real aunt! While you and mom ride off into the sunset in Hawaii!" I recounted.

Heavy footsteps march to my room, I glance down to see Dad wearing a sleeveless flannel shirt and old blue jeans. "Son, you know how much this means to your mother. You know how she is, always complaining I don't take her out." he sighs, scratching at his uncombed curly locks.

"But hey! You know what, Clarisse has a kid, names Dillon. You guys played as toddlers when Clarisse visted. You two were the cuties thing. With Dillon you'll be able to have some fun, meet new people, make new friends!" he exclaims.

I glare at him. "Why do I have to make new friends when I have plenty already?"

"Well, I'm only trying to show you the bright si-" he was interrupted by squealing coming from the living room.

"Three more days!" great, it's Mom. She's probably her prancing around the house.

"Three more days until Hawaii!" Mom sang as sprang up to my dads side.

"Yes, yes I get it mom. Stop rubbing it in." I
