The Assyrian army was strong, experienced, and terrifying. Chariots were a scary sight to see from the other side of the battlefield. Thousands of infantrymen struck fear into the eyes of the opponents. An estimated 150,000 mean made up the terrifying army. While it may not be the largest army ever assembled, at that time it was one of the largest and scariest and would not be eclipsed until the Persian empire came around.
