Henry FOrd once said, “Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success”. This great nation flourished on the backs of individual people .My hope for our country in the future is to have less crime, keep everyone safe, and have pride in our nation. One hope I have for the future is to see less crime. Veterans have fought for our safety from other countries. Other countries have attacked us. But it is our U.S soldiers who protect us everyday whether they are on the base in the sky, underwater, at sea, and on the ground they are still defending us from terrorist attacks and crime . One way that our military protects us is from being attacked by terrorists or being threatened by another country. Our military gets involved and makes sure no one will get hurt. As a country, our military even goes to other countries to see how other people are doing. They also are around the United States perimeter to make sure that no people from other countries sneak in to cause terrible crimes.On the battlefield, the military pledges to leave no soldier …show more content…
Veterans are the people who sacrificed their lives protecting our freedom. Our soldiers who have fought in the US Army, Navy, Marine Corps, Air Force, and Coast Guard need to be recognized and appreciated. There are currently about 19 million veterans in this great nation. Veterans Day originated as Armistice Day on November 11, 1919, the first anniversary of the end of World War I. Congress passed a resolution in 1926 for an annual observance, and Nov. 11 became a national holiday beginning in 1938. Unlike Memorial Day, Veterans Day pays tribute to all American veterans,living or dead. We have one day a year set aside to honor these brave men and women.
