What is abortion? Abortion is a medically terminated pregnancy. Abortion means that the mother has decided to end her pregnancy before the fetus can live outside the womb. Abortions can either be done medically or surgically, depending on how far along the woman’s pregnancy is. Medical abortions occur in the first 49 days of pregnancy, which involves several appointments at the doctor’s office. A surgical procedure is done using a suction method, called vacuum aspiration. The surgical route occurs before, and not after, week 23 of pregnancy. Abortion was legalized in 1973, during the case of Roe vs. Wade. In 2011, 9,550 Alabama women got abortions, that equals to 10 abortions for every 1,000 women. As of December 2015, restrictions have been put on abortions. In Alabama, women must go through an ultrasound and must be given the opportunity to see the image. The percentage for Alabama abortions is small, 0.9%, but not small enough. That percentage should be brought to 0.0%. Bringing that number down will not only save the lives of innocent babies, but also save a whopping 1.5 billion dollars in just a year, according to Planned Parenthood, that is unnecessary spending! Any person that is responsible enough to have sexual intercourse with another person, unprotected, should be responsible enough to take care of a child. Any woman knows the consequences of having sex. Women should not have the option to kill an innocent fetus. The baby growing on the inside did not ask to be put there. But, the male should be more responsible, and make sure that he uses protection. Abortion is murder, it should be illegal. In many opinions, abortions are only acceptable in very few cases. If the mother has a condition, such as heart failure, infections, or preeclampsia that could lead to the death of the mother. It is a violent thing that kills an innocent unborn child. An abortionist is a cruel individual. An abortionist is like a terrorist; they take the lives of innocent individuals. Many people do not see the harm in having their baby aborted. They see it as ‘the right thing to do’. Before any person considers getting an abortion they should hold a baby, and just look into its eyes, and see how their views on it changes. Having an abortion is just an unnatural thing to do. A mother should have that natural nurturing instinct to love and care for their child. If the mothers would just stop and think for a moment, and decide to have the child, after it is over with, they will regret even having abortion cross their minds. They will be glad that they decided to go through with the pregnancy and have that experience, even if the baby is put up for adoption. The baby will also appreciate it when he, or she is older.
What is your outlook on abortion now? Everyone should be inspired to fight the fight and push for abortion clinics to be closed. Abortion should be illegal in all 50 states. It is in the hands of the citizens to help the future of these innocent babies. There are way too many abortions happening every day. It would be nice to get that number down to zero. There are too many alternatives to getting abortions, many clinics and helplines, and even websites
