The true story of how a woman’s life was ended. A teenage girl, Donna Marie Dixon, was picked up from a bar by two men a man and taken to an apartment. The main male’s name was Timothy Wesley McCorquodale. He tells her she is pretty once they are in the apartment. The man then hits Donna across the face and rips off her blouse. He then ties her hands with a nylon stocking behind her back. Taking off his belt, the man continuously hits Donna across the back with his large belt buckle. Afterwards, McCorquodale strips Donna of her clothing and closes her mouth with tape and a wash cloth. Another man, Leroy, kicks Donna to the floor. With the cigarette he was smoking, McCorquodale takes the end and burns Donna on her breasts, thigh, and navel. There are no words to describe how much pain and embarrassment Donna suffered through. These men, and others who were aware of what was going on, should receive the punishment they deserve, which, in McCorquodale’s case, is death. Otherwise, our justice system is not just. Murder always deserves blame. Once an individual murders a person, it is final. There is not a way to reverse this unlawful act. Since this murder was most definitely not accidental, the only justice would be to end McCorquodale’s life as he ended innocent Donna’s life. McCorquodale did receive the punishment he deserved, and was electrocuted in 1987 (Blanco 1). If a person is willing to end another person’s life, whether it be by rape, torture, shooting, or all of the above, that person deserves to have their life ended whether it may cost more to our society and not deter crime; justice needs to be served to families of victims to protect for the
