Horse racing is usually seen as a fun, thrilling experience. A chance to win money. But looking past the cheering crowds there is a lot going on you probably don’t know about. Horses are whipped every second they lay their foot on the track. Zero release from the pain being handed to them. The fact that they are started so young their joints have very little time to strengthen and develop to carry their own weight much less a person and saddle in their back while running forty miles per hour. Or of course, along with this there is the abuse of drugs. Horse racing should be banned. You apply pressure to the horse, horse obeys command, you release. Teaching the horse that if he listens you will stop dominating and pressuring him. Which is exactly what you want. With racing there is no release, just relentless whipping. Which in this case is our pressure. With no release the horse never truly learns. When off the racetrack and auctioned away to somebody that will cause a lot of problems for the new owner. Resulting in possibly having the horse be retrained. When and if the horse is trained back into a nice, quiet horse he will most likely die at a younger age than most horses. Thanks to their joints not developing correctly. Racing horses too fast, too young, with too much weight on their backs messes up their joints! And if a horse cannot run, walk, or even stand they will die and end up having to be put down. Racing these young horses will cause them to have a short, painful life.
Some people argue that horse racing is okay because they can make lots of money! Is an animals life to be spent painfully worth any money at all? Also saying that because most people eat meat, they should be able to exploit them for entertainment is ridiculous. Having protein in your diet is a need, not something that is unnecessary like horse racing. You do not need to watch horses race around a track five times. Hundreds of horses die while racing each
