"The human mind is like a fertile ground where seeds are continually being planted" (28). The weight seed implanted itself into my mind at an early age of 11, and buried itself so deep that getting it out is impossible without a struggle. Phrases such as; chubby isn 't attractive, get rid of those love handles, the stomach should lay flat not sticking out, are on constant repeat in my mind. The words I use to judge and describe myself have never been impeccable. They tend to lean towards being cruel, hurtful and leave me feeling disgusted about myself. Being comfortable in your own skin is difficult when during work you hear comments such as; are you gaining weight or were you the one who was pregnant? After hearing those comments it’s hard not to take them personally. My friends will sometimes make a joke when I am eating, and say that I should watch out and not eat too much or I will gain weight, and although I know it’s a joke, it’s still hard for me not to take it to heart. The following quote, “You take it personally because you agree with whatever was said”
