“Track Tryouts are today. The Wolves had not gotten a gold medal in 12 years I could win the gold," Ryan explains to Sarah. "You do know that Eli is running for the Red Hawks right," Sarah tells Ryan with disappointment. Eli is the fastest kid in their league, he runs a hundred meters in 10.2 seconds. "I know, but he might be in a different heat this year," Ryan says hopefully. "Either way we have to go to tryouts now," Ryan continues.
The track is fairly new with the same red turf as all the others, but this track was also unique. The turf has a cushion put underneath it for optimal traction and to make the turf malleable for fewer injuries. The events were already starting and Ryan was in the next heat.
