Rahim Khan is an elderly man and resident of Peshawar who has gone through many things in recent years, now lives where his late business partner used to live. He takes very good care of this house, but he regrets to inform us that he does not know how long it will last due to an untreated illness. After listening to his story we went to his well-kept house to ask for an interview and we got many honest answers.
What makes the Taliban take charge of such a personal issue for you?
Since I was young, I grew up with two men Hazara, Ali and Baba, who have been like brothers to me. I have received kindness from many other Hazara people too. Baba and I also had the luck to rub shoulders with influential public figures, such as the prime minister. We had even made a name for ourselves in Afghanistan as The Businessmen. But when the Taliban arrived and took over, Baba and his son were forced to flee to America. They were forced to leave everything they had built for them. When the Taliban controlled the Soviets of Kabul, Afghanistan was a different place. We felt freedom while the parades marched through the streets, but we quickly realized that we were all very hopeful and celebrated too soon. They did not want to support the Afghans, they wanted to terrorize and kill people. Innocent people.
