At that moment life completely stopped ! “Mommy, look what I found in your dream book!” one of the many things I would shout out as a child to my mother. She obtained her Bachelors of Arts in psychology from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University. She had several psychology related books and was very knowledgable in psychology related subjects. Therefore, starting as a young child, I’ve always been exposed to various subjects in psychology. The main reason I wanted to know more about psychology was because my mothers passion for it. Her knowledge and compassion sparked my interest in learning more about psychology. However, As I matured, I was overwhelmed with the multiple opportunities that I could choose as a lifelong career. …show more content…
This class reinitiated the interest in psychology that my mother planted in me as I was growing up. Even the statistics part of the class which introduced the bell curve was surprisingly interesting to me. The conclusion of my senior year my AP psychology teacher had me to create a final project. The project was a children 's story based off of different terms we learned during the course of the school year, I received a 100 on the assignment. Resulting in the exceptional score on my final project, as well as the passing score on my AP exam which aided in receiving college credit for the general psychology course at NC A&T SU. The mastery results boosted my confidence in my ability to go to college and major in psychology. In my mind I could hear my mothers voice of eagerness and …show more content…
Due to the many obstacles in life I am competent that I can handle many more. I am also aware that the journey to receive my masters in counseling psychology will create many more barriers. However, I am willing to exceed all expectations. Ultimately, obtaining a Masters in Counseling psychology will enable me to be one step closer to assisting and enriching other individuals who may need motivation to get through critical points and be conquerers over their situations. The program at Wake Forest appears to be an enriching and life changing program for those who must balance life as we as school. The ability to have an online program that allows you to still visit the campus for various needs ensures that a student will always have any help needed. Wake Forest is equipped with high caliber Professors,proper accreditation, 100% success rate when taking the counseling exam as well as being ranked number 27 in the U.S. News & World report.
