Vitamin C Lab Report
Introduction
Vitamins are organic compounds that are needed in small amounts for human growth and nutrition. Vitamins cannot be synthesized by the body. Vitamins can be categorized into two groups, fat-soluble and water-soluble. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the body, and remain stored even in excess amounts. Water-soluble vitamins, like vitamin C, are excreted if too much is consumed. The recommended amount of daily vitamin C is 60mg (Denniston et al, 2013). Vitamin C functions to form collagen, which is about one third of the protein content in humans (Denniston et al., 2013).
