Even though Sexton had to be hospitalized after her break down she begun to write with the encouragement of her therapist. Her first written sonnets themes were not as happy as they were now. The themes were about depression and manic issues. She also dealt with conflict man vs. self as she writes to personal about her depressions and what the process was over coming it. This growth that she overcome. Anne Sexton‘s work, titled Cinderella , uses elements dramatic irony , tone , and personification to emphasize the theme of Love Dramatic Irony in “Cinderella” were so extreme that they never played it in the movies, but Anne Sexton showed the real aspect of the poem. In the poem it describes how every fairytale poem has a successful conclusion such as the beginning “Or the charwoman who is on the bus when it cracks up” (Line17-20) and ended up being rich. But the buses is a personification because it does not crack up and it and surely doesn’t do anything a person does emotionally. Everyone one has a different path to take and its not line up to live the same for everyone like every letter that fits into an envelope no matter what the words are said on there. “This time Cinderella fit into the shoe like a Love letter fit into an envelope” (Line 93-94).
