Anne Frank: A True Hero

A young girl with shoulder length brown hair and soft eyes sits hushed in the corner. Her upbeat nature, entrapped in the thin walls, the only comfort keeping her sheltered from the brewing storm of hatred outside. She was forced to live in silence, but her thoughts were loud. She could not be older than fourteen, but she had wisdom beyond her years. One day, unbeknownst to her, the words she, Anne Frank, meticulously etched into her journal would reveal to many the truth, the extreme suffering of many. Her diary showed human's world of hate and intolerance, and proved to them that this is not human nature, meant this is not just life, and we cannot just accept this. That is why Anne is a hero. She is an inspiration to others, specifically young girls suffering. As a young girl, her voice touched thousands, she made Jews, and war not just numbers, it was stories, each one very different from the next, it was people, people with names and faces, and families. She revealed the harsh realities Jews faced, the horror Hitler was and the impact a young girl can have on the entire world. Before modern ideas, when talking during school resulted in a smack on the wrist, when asking questions was only annoying and parents thought their children were to be seen not heard, As one author says, Anne Frank pushed forward, her thoughts never silenced and her determination stubborn. Her insight, her intelligence astounding, thinking deeper, finding the causes of war, the cause of hate, and begging people to find kindness and love (Prose). She never gave in or surrendered to the idea of Hitler’s world, she believed people could be wonderful and kind. She showed others to see the good and the bad,and then to know how to make the right choice. She proved that just because one may be young, one isn't simply naive, and everyone deserves to be heard, so she is …show more content…
They both have been shut out of society, and become dehumanized, as though they are not worthy of being titled as human. They both have been given challenges and obstacles. Though they are so different and separated by very different days and completely different situations, they still inspire others to be kind and good, so they both are heroes.

In conclusion, a hero is anyone who inspires others to be good people, as well as being a good kind person themselves. Anne Frank is, by this definition, most definitely a hero. Kathy, my coach is also a hero by this definition. There is one main lesson to learn from both heroes: no matter your circumstances, you can make a difference for the better, even if it seems to small to have any impact. So, one must never let someone silence them or their ideas, one must keep fighting and working for what they believe in, in any small way they
