Animal rights groups have argued that it is inhumane to test animals for human benefit and feel that animals should not be used or violated. Animal’s rights are violated when they are used for testing and they aren’t given choice. Many protesters feel that the lives of animals should be more valued and respected and believe that animals shouldn’t be subjected to harsh experiments or mistreatment for the benefit of others. Some people feel that animals are too different from humans to be used for testing. Animal testing is seen by some people as a cruel to put animal’s lives at risk; to test products and medical treatments effects on animals. People may feel that animal experiments should be regulated to finding better ways of testing animals for medicine and cosmetics. Animals may feel stress from these experiments and forced into isolation for most of the time during experimentations. Animal activist want to stop the process of using animals for scientific research and help keep animals from being used in …show more content…
Andrew Knight of the Oxford Centre for animal ethics states that physicochemical evaluation and computerized modelling are alternatives to animal testing and they are more effective ways of conducting research. Researchers use computerized modelling to predict the effects drugs can have on human bodies and to research disease. Dr. Knight states that computerized modeling accurately predicts how drugs will react in the human body. Another alternative to animal testing are human volunteers that can be used instead of animals to test the effects of medical drugs and cosmetic products. According to PETA International Science Consortium using human patient simulators, virtual reality and computer simulators to conduct research experiment and have been proven more effective than animal testing these methods should replace the use of animals for testing the effects of
