There has been several tests that have gone wrong on humans but they when they tested the drug on the animal it went perfect. Élan Pharmaceuticals created a vaccine to fight Alzheimer, the vaccine worked perfect on mice, the vaccine cured the mice from Alzheimer. They used the same vaccine on humans but the results were different, their central nervous system inflamed (Alzheimer's Vaccine Trials Suspended). It is clear that testing drugs and substances on animals is not safe for humans. Another example to prove that animal testing is not a safe way to test drugs is the process of replacing hormones on women.…

Animal testing is cruel and inhumane. These animals are subjected to forced feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, infliction of burns and wounds to study the healing process and effects and remedies. Among the cruelest experiments is the Draize eye test which evaluates irritation by shampoos and other products to the eyes. During this experiment rabbits are restrained and their eyelids are held open by clips for multiple days which leads to the death of 50% of rabbits used (Scientific American, "Do Cosmetic Companies Still Test on Live Animals?," scientificamerican.com). We also are very different from animals; having different metabolic, anatomical, and cellular differences.…

These breakthroughs are needed to continue living in our current society because of how dangerous we made it for ourselves. Animal testing is hard to discuss morally because humans are the first ones to use it. It's outside our normal moral viewpoint and in a gray area. As a race, humans now rely on animal testing to continue major progress but it will be inhumane until we can make artificial bodies with pain receptors. The only immediate alternative to animal testing other than dropping research as of right now is human testing.…

Testing for new medicines is clearly dangerous, it is completely unreasonable to have humans whom the medicine will be for, hurt by experimentation. Although there are methods other than animal experimentation they are not as reliable as animal testing. Wesley Smith tells a story from Science “Using non-animal methods, researchers designed a protease inhibitor that looked extremely promising as a treatment for HIV. Regulations required that it be safety checked in large animals before human trials”in this case, specially bred dogs”to predict how the medicine would react in a living…

After studying multiple views on animal testing I have come to realize my personal view has now changed since the start of my research. Before undergoing heavy study into animal testing I believed that all types of animal testing should be stopped, but now I believe that the idea is very beneficial and should only be done when the rights of the animal are considered. In the coming years, hopefully, more regulations can be passed to ensure that all animal’s lives are protected during experimentation. Although most animals are treated with care and no pain is dealt to them when undergoing testing, it would be a lie if I stated no animals are harmed during the process. Animal testing is extremely useful in developing life-saving drugs and medicine.…
