Topic: Animal Rights
General Purpose: To persuade
Specific Purpose: By the end of my speech, the audience should acquire a better understanding of why animals should have rights and treat them the same way they treat one another.
Thesis: Sharing most of the same feelings and emotions we do, animals are not ours to use for entertainment, eat, experiment on, wear, or abuse in any other way.
Introduction:
Attention Getter: Each year 10000 dogs die in illegal dog fighting according to Rescue Ink, more than 3 million dogs and cats are euthanised in shelters and more than 15 million animals are used to experiment on. All in all more than 150 billion animals are slaughtered every year. Every time these statistics are shown to someone the simple answer would be that even if they stopped these cruel acts how can their actions affect on the big numbers. Reason to Listen: Although animal rights might seem a redundant topic, it should be taken more into …show more content…
Conclusion:
Review of Main Points:
I began my speech by discussing the way animals are treated..
I then went over the idea of animal rights.
Restate thesis: Sharing most of the same feelings and emotions we do, animals are not ours to use for entertainment, eat, experiment on, wear, or abuse in any other way.
Closure: In the end, many of you would ignore what I talked about today, but animals truly need our help as much as we can give because they share the same feelings and rights we do. If for every 10 people 3 would start acting against animal cruelty in any possible way this world would be a better place for them. And as a start here are some petitions to sign against animal cruelty for whoever is interested (https://www.change.org/topics/animals).
