The novel Animal Farm by George Orwell inspired it’s production, both produced and directed by John Halas and Joy Batchelor; the audience can distinguish many differences and similarities between the novel and movie. The seven commandments, the speech and the flag, appear in the novel and movie in order to show the similarities. The seven commandments exist to keep the animals from turning into the humans, the animals consider the seven commandments as their boundaries stopping them from mirroring the human’s. The director probably decided to keep Old Major’s speech the same as how Orwell wrote it because Orwell created the speech in order to have an impact on the animals, causing them to come to the decision of rebelling against the human
