1- Slavery in America was not solely created of prejudice as there were other event that played a role in the creation of American Slavery. Slavery was needed in the the Colonies because there was a lack of workers. Workers were needed and Natives weren 't as reliable as African slaves, so the Transatlantic Trade Route was created. with the spread of tobacco growing at high rates someone need to work on the plantations. The work force also shifted to slaves from indentured servants because of Bacon’s Rebellion, where indentured serves revolted and burned Jamestown to the ground. many people did not want another uprising and decided that it would be safer to used slaves instead. Prejudice also made African Slavery easier because people already thought of africans as savages and it was easier to have a dehumanized race placed into slavery. 2- The actions of King James II were perceived as threats to New England as well as the colonies because he restricted many of the liberties that both were used to. King James had restricted many of the colonies charters, which didn 't allow the colony to make a written form of government. He made its colonies were not allowed to elect representatives and that town meetings were no allowed. The greatest action that was perceived as a threat was that many laws that imposed taxes were created and placed on both New England and the colonies. 3- King Philip’s War, Bacon’s Rebellion, and the Salem Witch Trials all together have illustrated a widespread crisis in British North America in the late seventeenth century. King Philips War was how white settlers began to take control of Native lands and eventually the Natives retaliated and attacked the white settlers, but were no match for the white settlers and both groups had received casualties, but the native population was reduced drastically. Bacon’s Rebellion showed how the Virginia government was overthrown by mainly indentured servants. showing how the colonies will not tolerate corrupt governments. The Salem witch trials also showed a flaw within the colonies. As people by the thousands were being accused of witchcraft and hundreds were being excited it was clear the the justice system was flawed. 4- According to Document 18, written by Elizabeth Springs, an indentured servant, it is stated that the life of an indentured servant was very poor and that there were many complaints. it was even said that “Many Negros are better used” saying that some slaves had better opportunities then Indentured servants. many indentured servants had no very little cloth, little to no food, and had to sleep on the ground, similar to that of slavs. But unlike slaves indentured servants could look forward to their freedom once the work dues were paid and they would receive their freedom dues. some indentured servants freedom dues were not enough …show more content…
this statement is shown to be true as it is stated that “The work of the farmers’ wives and daughters often spelled the difference between a family;s self-sufficiency and poverty. Most wives were skilled with sewing and were able to make their own fabrics to keep their family clothed and if needed the wife would help the husband with any servile work.

1- In the eighteenth century the ideas of liberalism and republicanism direr in many ways. within republicanism there was a greater sense of public and social interaction. republicanism also believed in the idea of slavery and most people who followed republicanism owned slaves. The American Enlightenment and The Great Awakening was a time when many beliefs and new religions were created. As a result of a variety of beliefs and religion there was a separation between people, many people shifted from beliefs of elites rot those of newly created beliefs based off of reason.
