Men, Hebrews 1:13-14. The author of Hebrews asks; 'But to which of the angels has He (God) ever said, "Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a foot stool for your feet"? They bring messages, they fight battles on behalf of The Lord and us humans. The author makes clear that God is higher, Jesus is higher. Angels are sent out to serve those who will receive salvation. Hello, Bonnie, you are right that the Psalms absolutely belong. Psalms shows us how to be worshippers like the book of Proverbs teaches us how to be wise. In Psalms 137:2 I would suggest that not only were they not willing to sing for their captors because it was the Lord’s song but also that they were so sorrowful that didn’t have the heart use them. They didn’t get rid of their incitements, they had hope that one day again they would have occasion to use them, so they laid them aside (hung on a willow) for at the present time they had no use for them; God turned their, feasting into mourning and their songs into weeping (Amos. 8:10). Negative psalm have its place because if the Psalms were only filled with positive messages that only show…

Hebrews, James, and 1 Peter are the first three of eight general epistles found near the end of the New Testament. All three letters were written by different authors: Hebrews probably by the apostle Paul, James by James the eldest brother of Jesus, and 1 Peter by the apostle Peter. These three letters also had different recipients. It is assumed that Hebrews was written to primarily Jewish Christians who had been scattered across the known world and likewise with the book of James, but 1 Peter appears to be written to both Jewish Christians and Gentile Christians scattered in Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia. Despite having different authors and different readers, all three letters have a similar purpose and theme: they were writing to encourage Christians who were…

One of the bigger contrasts of angels in these to religions is that of free will, by Islamic belief angels have no free will and are forever servants of God. Although, in Christianity angels have free will as evident by Lucifer rebellion and fall from heaven. An even starker contrast is that of a holy angel in Christianity. These holy angels have once sinned, then proved themselves to God to become “elect” (1 Timothy 5:21)…

Three important themes to consider when reading the Hebrew Bible are God’s relationship with humanity, humanity’s attempt to be like God, and humanity’s disobedience of God. These themes are important in any religious text because they are crucial to understanding the human condition and the purpose of human existence. Genesis reveals how God’s relationship changes because of disobedience, as well as how a desire to be equal to God motivates disobedience. This is important in how it explains the ultimate reason humans sin and how it affects God’s relationship with humanity.…

Angels are “created, spiritual beings with moral judgement and high intelligence, but without physical bodies.” Angels were, like us, created directly by God for His own reasons. The fact that angels exercise moral judgement is shown to us by Lucifer who persuaded a third of the angels in heaven to rise up against God. Also there high intelligence is shown in there interactions with men and their worship to God. (Grudem, 397)…
