Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home was established in 1952 by John S Anderson and William F McQueen in an old home located in Petersburg, Florida. As years went by and the business slowly grew, the two decided to do major renovations to the funeral home to expand the business. In 1970, Mr. Anderson passed away, leaving Mr. McQueen to operate the business on his own. In 1984, him and a group of local funeral directors decided to purchase the historic Sunnyside cemetery. In 1987, Mr. McQueen passed away leaving his three children to continue to run the funeral home. As years went by the McQueen kids slowly added to their fathers funeral home, by continuing to better it for the business and the customers. In 1997, they opened their

Florida is a big city and there are many funeral homes all around town. One strength that we have to offer is the amount of calls we do. Here at our funeral home we are open 24 hours a day. There is always someone there to answer calls, making arrangements, or doing something to keep our work flowing. There are over 20 staff members that work at the Funeral Home and each person stays productive. When our customers come in our goal is to satisfy them and work around their price range. This makes us available to answer any questions or concerns at any time if needed. We have grief counselors available to talk by phone or on our website if you need assistance. Cremation and pet services are available to those family members that may be interested. At our Family Tribute Center we offer Starbucks coffee with cookies, and a play area for children to keep them occupied during arrangements. We know times are hard, and we are willing to work with our customers finances so that they can receive the best products and service at an affordable price. We offer low to high package deals that people can choose to stay within a budget range.

Services at Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home may vary, depending on what the family may want we offer ways that people can save money. We understand that funerals can be expensive which is why we are willing to work around any type of budget. If a family finds a casket or any other product that they are interested in cheaper at another funeral home, we are willing to match their price, or offer a better deal to accommodate the family’s wishes.
