‘’Air View of Spring Nursery’’ was painted in 1966 by Alma Thomas, she was born in Columbus, Georgia, and died in Washington, D.C. Alma Thomas developed her signature style—large, abstract paintings filled with dense, irregular patterns of bright colors—in her 70s (‘’National Museum’’). Her artwork is known for being very abstract. Thomas was especially influenced by displays of azaleas she saw in Washington, D.C. acrylic on canvas (‘’Air View of a Spring Nursery 1966’’). Alma’s art piece is very neat, and it appeals to my neat personality I dislike seeing this out of order and jumbled up being very neat gives me a clear mind to really focus on what I need to do or find. If you haven’t seen flowers from above as they bloom in the spring, you probably need to look up a picture to compare it to see what Alma’s trying to make her viewer see. At first I thought her painting was just colored lines but as I focused it remind me of a field of crops because I used to live in Miami where there is a lot of agriculture.
