The world we are all living in is quickly becoming a technology dominated society where we would all be lost without our smartphones, tablets and other fancy gadgets. As a result, we can efficiently contact and pull up information in a flash, but just a short time ago these kinds of things would only be seen in the latest sci-fi flick. Consequently, the benefits of this new technology are met with drawbacks too. In all honesty, our privacy is at a risk we’ve never seen before. Sharing our intimate and personal information isn’t a dilemma we should ever face. The fact that, Jeff Jarvis wants to share “his personal income and his malfunctioning penis” (117) is wonderful! However, it’s safe to presume that most citizens would overwhelmingly prefer to keep details about their private parts, private. On the other hand, it would be a safe bet that most people wouldn’t want to hear about my penis, so why even bring up the advocates of sharing information like that? Tapscott, who I assume is not young then talks about how “because of Facebook, young people today have a harder time cheating on their boyfriends or girlfriends.” Are you kidding me!? A website that connects a bunch of teenagers with their hormones running makes it harder to cheat on significant others? For instance, most young men would have a big temptation if a cute blonde girl posted a cliché status like “I love fall! Cuddle weather is here! Who wants to come over and watch a movie???” You better believe a lot of guys are forgetting about their girlfriend without much hesitation. Tapscott is foolish to think it would be beneficial for everyone to share
