This statement is in direct violation of Section 375A of Malaysia’s penal code as well as Article 16 (1) (c) of the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women’s (Cedaw) Human Rights Commission. Section 375A of the penal code establishes that if a husband attempts or receives sexual gratification from his wife by force may be subjected to five years in prison if convicted. Article 16 (1) (c) of CEDAW’s Human Rights Commission also declares that a man who does in fact sexually violate or rape his wife is subject to criminal charges
