BRIEF SYNOPSIS
BRAD HASTINGS (50’s), a distinguished businessman, and his wife, DINAH (50’s), throw a 4th of July party after a disappointing parade. Their daughter, CONNIE (20’s) and Connie’s friend RENE (30’s), skip the party and head to the beach.
The party is attended by LESTER ROBINSON (40’s), a professional psychologist and Reverend JEROME PINCKNEY (50’s).
When Lester and MELINDA show up at the party, Dinah immediately grows jealous of Melinda. Brad reassures Dinah that they are just friends.
Lester and Brad ponder their lives as they debate philosophies.

VIEW FROM THE PALISADES presents as an introspective character driven dramatic one-act play. The story centers on a troubled, married couple and the party they throw on the 4th of July.
The guests, who attend the party, debate various life issues about morality, humanity, and sin.
The moral argument reveals personal secrets that threaten the family, but then when a real-life crisis interrupts the party, the world comes back into perspective for them.

The setting at the Palisades and there’s a nice view from the window. It’s an engaging setting and works well for a one-act play.
