We see how even though we try our best we still need something or someone to help with that drive to help push ourselves.Which brings us to our next scene where we see the child version of the singer having a conversation with his grandmother then the scene quickly shifts to a church during a funeral. We then see the young child praying with his head on the coffin of his late grandmother.Seeing that scene in the video shows us the the grandmother had a great impact on the child. Seeing how quickly things happen in life. The next scene that I would like to introduce would be the image of the child pushing an old school ice cream cart. As the scene unfolds we see older gentlmen loading the weapons into the cart then running away. When they leave the child fills the cart with a powder substance to cover up the crime then countinues on with what he was doing earlier.We see this scene of the child being used or born into this typical gang related lifestyle. Like many other cultures, each culture may value different things. For this particular actor in his music along with the video he is able to capture those valuse. The values that were echo in this song would be the typical gang, drugs, famliy, church, politics, and family get togethers.These valuse may not apply to all african americans. We see the various scene that protray this video throughout the video. From the scenec at the funeral to when that child was operation the old school ice cream cart. When it come to my own personal veiw, I have grown up with the thought of african americans being very family orriented as well as one of the major groups that deal with gangs. I have been influenced by the various movies and other music videos that protray african americans in this sort of mannor, which make my interpuritation of this song. Not only are the visules good but so are his lyrics. One of his lines say “ My grandma taught me if you write your name in stone you’ll never get to white out”(Line 38).This lines interpurtaion caught my eye. Within his lyrics you also get a scense of a life lesson. This line basically means you only live once. That in life we dont get second chances. This line gives us a sense of value with family
