However, despite these laws that are supposed to be equal for everyone, certain circumstances can make individuals still not reach the same goes. Pluralism argues that social groups that are/have been subjects of oppression need an extra boost to help them achieved the same results (Kim, 2012). Instead of thinking o the system as a melting pot, we should begin to think of it as a mosaic instead. This will help change our mentality into one that does not see everyone on the same level of playing field. This is where affirmative action and remedial laws come into play.
