In A TALE DARK AND GRIMM by Adam Gidwitz introduces king and his death, the young prince, faithful Johannes, and the most beautiful woman in a painting, and Hansel and Gretel. The king passed away and his son, the prince became king afterwards. The prince was not allowed to go in a room because he would fall in love with the painting of a beautiful woman. He went to rescue her and they started a life together. Faithful Johannes was not allowed to let the prince in as the king said before he passed. Hansel and Gretel are the two children of the new king and queen. Part of the book takes place in a kingdom, woods, baker’s house, random family homes, and hell. Hansel was sweating. He told her that it was not hot enough and the baker woman crawled in. Hansel crawled out as she was crawling in.

One door was opened and came out was a silver haired woman. She opened her hands to Gretel and Gretel sobbed. The woman washed Gretel and gave her clean clothes. The next day, she went out and saw a young, cheerful man. His lips were deep red. She followed the man into the woods and he invited her to his house. Gretel was warned by the woman not to go into the woods. The woman gave Gretel was a bag of lentils to scatter the path just in case it rained.
