The book 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens is a book with great stories, advice, cartoons, quotes and a lot more! Sean made the book extremely interesting and he wrote it in such a way that you could barely put it down. He had stories where the habits that were applied helped work things out and made all the difference. To only make the book better he put funny cartoons in with quotes that really were true, and how life growing up for him was like. Sean really had a sense of humour when writing the book and it will really crack you up when reading the book. I totally enjoyed the whole book, and would call it a must read. The book started off with the introduction then introduced the 7 habits with a few word summary of what each habit was. Then to make it interesting he wrote the totally opposite of each habit and what would would do if you were doing the opposite. After that he went into two sections about paradigms of ourselves, others, life and then onto being centred in different things. In the next section he introduced the Personal Bank Account what it is and how it is used. After we went into the first habit “Be proactive”. You are in control of your life so make the best out of …show more content…

Recharge yourself. I found this book to be extremely useful and I think that every teen should read it at least once in their teen years. I believe the world would be a better place if everyone applied these 7

Another issue I found with this book was the seeming lack of scientific evidence that the author provides. While the examples are both interesting and compelling, they seem to be more anecdotal than scientific. Finally, he seems to mull over the concepts a bit much. As stated before, most of the ideas are somewhat simple, yet he will spend paragraphs explaining them. Overall, I enjoyed the book and found it quite insightful.…

In the movie The Village, M. Night Shyamalan depicts simplicity, peace and welfare within the people in a small isolated community in olde Pennsylvania. M. Night Shyamalan instills readers that working together as a community is the ideal of simplicity and an easy lifestyle. Likewise, in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, Sean Covey strives to teach young readers the importance in healthy habits that will further benefit in their foreseeable future. When comparing the two sources, there are overlapping themes in being proactive, beginning with the end in mind, and putting first things first.…

I liked this book because it explained that our minds can sometimes trick us. Even the smartest people do not always see the most obvious things. They compare different types of people and show how our minds work in similar ways. I liked the gorilla video that they spoke about at the beginning of the book. That video has been showed millions of times and people still do not see the big black gorilla that walks through the middle of the…

In reviewing this book, however, I must give my honest opinion on how I felt toward it. In general, this book is organized and well written. Yet, what makes it so challenging to follow is a result of the time frame it was written in. The older usage of language along with the lack of technology to accurately translate this into the American language makes this book require an extensive amount of time in order to actually understand it. For me, I struggled immensely finishing this book, let alone being able to recite what I learned from it.…

What I enjoyed was listening to the guide about how the Kean’s spent their everyday life; servants would aspic food because most people by the age of 18 had already started to loose teeth and they would also even cut up the food for them because it was impolite to do so at the table. All of the information he said in relation to eating manners was a shock to me. Living my life today I couldn’t imagine conforming back to living like they did.…

In an article from May of 2013 it was written that Abercrombie & Fitch refused to make clothes for larger women. Initially reading this article I was appalled at the lack of ethics Abercrombie & Fitch portrayed as a company. By not carrying XL or XXL sizes they ostracized anyone slightly overweight. In addition to only carrying the select small sizes, the company stated that they chose to be exclusive and they absolutely did not want overweight people shopping in their store. This causes the company to have a terrible reputation, as the plus-size market is extremely large.…
