Introduction:
The issue of war has been a highly debated and discussed topic since the dawn of time. It has raised many questions about the role of morals in society and the subsequent chain of events that occur when such morals are abandoned. One main issue that has recently highlighted this chain of events is the current Gaza conflict between Hamas, Palestinians and Israel. The article titled ‘Civilian Gaza Toll the Fault of Hamas’ by Andrew Bolt discusses this conflict between Israel and Hamas. This article believes that Hamas is attacking the Palestinian population and murdering thousands so that they can then get approval from the west to then attack the Jewish population in Israel. The conclusion is the ending or wrapping up of an argument. The premise is usually followed by a conclusion which is normally indicated by the use of words such as ‘therefore’ or ‘as such’ . The first extract begins by presenting its introduction and following arguments through a series of rhetorical questions and subsequent dramatic statements. The introduction of this extract begins with a hard-hitting sentence that attracts the attention of the reader as well as creating a shock value within the composers writing. They do this through the quote “the Hamas Islamists who run Gaza love dead children. Not just dead Jewish children but Palestinian ones” . This introductory comment really sets the tone for the extract and conveys the intentions of the writer in aiming to create a piece that is emotionally manipulative and shocking. The following premises of this argument contain a series of rhetorical questions to get the responder to think about the concepts that he wishes to convey. Some examples of these questions include “why are so many Palestinian children dying as Israel now strikes back at Hamas?” and “firing rockets for a
