In this regard, the Healthy People Consortium (an association of national membership organizations and state health, mental health, substance abuse, and environmental agencies) implemented in December 2010 a project named “Healthy People 2020”. “Healthy People 2020 project, is looking to reduce morbidity and cost associated with, and maintain or enhance the quality of life for persons with Dementia” (Black, 2014, p.251). There are different interventions that can be done to achieve the goals of this program. First of all, one of the big steps that can be made is to understand the influence of lifestyle factors on a person’s risk cognitive decline and dementia. A very simple tool that everybody can use is a good diet. Linda Nazarko (2009) in her article “A healthy mind in a healthy body:reducing dementia risk”, suggests that the effect of diet, exercises and lifestyle choice have a big impact on the body, brain, and their future.
