Alian Boudrias, 40, plead guilty in front of the Ontario Court of Justice on Friday, February 10th, for failure to comply in Ottawa and for theft under $500.

The accused was found guilty of both charges, with a sentence of 13-day imprisonment and a 9-month period to pay off a $113 fine.

“I do apologize for my actions, it is the first time I have ever tried doing something like that,” said Boudrias during his arraignment.

The first charge consisted of failure to comply with the court’s conditions. The court established the accused, Boudrias, had to remain in an address provided by the Ottawa Freedom Centre (OFC) and was instructed to not move outside of the perimeter without the given consent of the court or without the company of an OFC’s

At the same time, Boudrias has been part of the Ontario Disability Support Program (ODSP) for the past ten years and has consistently suffered from drug and alcohol addiction issues, said Caberino.

Boudrias alleged he has attended psychiatrist consultations for his mental health and AA meetings to help with his addiction complications.

According to Boudrias’ statement, on February 21st, he plans on attending a meeting at the Sobriety House for a 28-day program, followed by a 6-months second stage which helps people to gradually incorporate themselves into society by offering part-time job opportunities, counseling and meetings.

“That was my goal, getting into the treatment program and get the help that I need,” Boudrias said.

Boudrias added he is not only suffering from drug and alcohol addiction issues but has also gotten fully tested for hepatitis C, but has yet to receive medication for the month of February.

“I’ve got three beautiful children that are crying for their dad. Their father has an addiction problem and I’m trying to do my best to be there for them,” said Boudrias with
