Chidren need constant supervision from the age of 6 months and up. Some stay at home parents who has 2 and 3 toddlers takes advatage of sending their children to day care just so they can get house work done and some time to rest before they comes back at home. As a parent I did the same although I had one child it felt like I had 3 or 4 he hung onto me every chance he got,I had to wait until he fell asleep to rush to the bathroom, most time am in the bathroom and his pounding and screaming to be lifted of the ground at some point I started going to the …show more content…
When at the day care they prepare infants for school, because it has become a routine to drop them of at them nursery then the attachment behaviour shouldn’t last too long, its just that some children doesn’t like change but they settle and adapt once they see children from the past day care. These children also are one step ahead interlectually because they have being taught the same at day care.
There are not much disadvantages in sending children to day care but there are a few which is not approved by some parents such as they are more likely to catch diseases such as colds and pink eyes because they’re exposed to different children they are also exposed to a lot of germs .Although they are supervised very carefully they are less likely to get one on one care then leaving them at home with a sibling.
It can be concluded that benefits are much greater when bringing your child to a day care than leaving them at home, they become part of the social structure and shouldn’t be considered the last resort or undesirable or an inferior substitute for care at home as stated by Barbara Tizard.
