Adieu, Standardized Testing! Imagine sitting in a room with no A/C when the temperature outside is one thousand degrees; just sitting, and writing… for hours. With each passing minute, the standardized test seems to get more difficult. Students should not be required to take standardized tests. Tests take too much time, cost too much money, and results can lower self esteem. Firstly, tests take too much time. Studies show that standardized tests take 20-25 hours a year. That’s about 86,400 seconds. According to Michael Cassidy, Obama, and many others, tests use too much time. Standardized tests are long and tedious, and when you finish, very boring.
