Acute Colitis: A Case Study

This patient is a 42 year old female, who required inpatient hospitalization due to acute colitis. She was admitted at mercy general hospital on September 21, 2016 due to complaints of loose watery diarrhea for the last 2 days. She stated that it was accompanied by abdominal pain especially in the per umbilical area. She also noted that she had vomited once and had chills.
On presentation to emergency department she was tachycardic. Her blood work showed a potassium level of 3.2 (no reference available at the time of review), a glucose level of 163 (no reference available at the time of the review). It was also revealed small amount of ketones.
CT abdomen/pelvis with contrast was done and showed moderate mucosal wall thickening involving the
