There has been many face changes within the United States Health Care System. There are a number of reasons why there have been changes within our system. The growth of the population increases in healthcare technologies and the rising cost of individual healthcare. One change in particular that we are going to focus on is the change of terminology and abbreviations within our medical system. Terminology is used for technical application in a subject, a variety of theories and also professions. Within the Healthcare profession terminology and abbreviation have been very influential. They’ve been influential from the aspect of saving time, promoting easier comprehension, promotion of universal communication, and they also assist in confidentiality. This particular abbreviation can be mistaken for Magnesium sulfate and morphine sulfate. The two can be used interchangeably when represented be the abbreviation MS. Although we have one of the best healthcare systems in the world change is inevitable. The influence of abbreviations and terminology have made it significantly easy to communicate. However, being safe is always the number one priority when dealing with an individual’s life. Just take a few more minutes to accurately communicate professionally and communicate safely.
