High School was a tough time for me when it came to academics. I was in all honors classes, dancing up to 8 hours a week and had a part-time job. I continually felt as if I was drowning in school work and the very industrial set up of many of my classes just made me feel worse. Most of my classes and teachers were structured like a factory and gave little to no room for creativity. As someone who loved art, I often found myself seeking refuge in the art department with my art teachers. I was not until senior year that my AP Chemistry teacher changed my perception of education.
